Maui Book

So this year, for a vacation, I am going to Hawaii. In particular Maui. How fun is that?

I would never have imagined in my wildest dreams that I would go to Hawaii. And that too Maui. My choice would have been a different island but what the heck. The extended family is going there and so I there I go. And no arm was twisted in the process.

One of the first thing I did when I found out about this trip was to buy this book. And I had no idea what a fantastic deal I had. The book costs about 10-15 dollars and it is the best book you can buy.

Anyone else been to Maui? Any tips for me?

Ginger Cocktail

So most of my regular readers know that this month, I've struggled with cold/allergies etc. While I have been taking regulars meds and antibiotics, I've been supplementing this with cocktail. Some folks have asked me for a recipe so here goes.

Ingredients

6 square inches Ginger root
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon black pepper corns
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
2 cups water

To make the cocktail:

  1. Add all the ingredients to the blender and blend.
  2. Strain the juice, keep it in a jar in the fridge.
How to use it:
  1. Pour it in a shot glass (my preference) and chug it once a day.
Benefits:
  1. Turmeric is a natural antibiotic.
  2. Ginger helps decrease the mucus in the body.
  3. Pepper creates the heat to battle the cold.
  4. Lime juice is a vitamin C shot.
  5. Honey makes everything taste better. Also... some people say that if you have a teaspoon of local honey everyday, it is equivalent to getting the allergy shots. It helps build immunity to the local pollen.
Danger:

  1. This can be spicy. If you are not used to spicy stuff, dilute this cocktail with water.
If you do try this, I'd love your feedback. What do you think? Good or hogwash?

Whatever-ritis

I think I have the walking pneumonia or something.

For the last 3 weeks or more, I've had a cold that simply won't go away. It gets worse and worse. I've tried conventional medicine, ayurvedic medicine, homepathy, yoga, hanging myself upside down, etc. etc. etc.

But so far nothing has worked and I am only getting worse.

Of course this is all my husband's fault because while I was suffering, he was globe trotting around the world for work.

And since I have a job and have very limited vacation, I've been taking half the dose of the medication during weekdays. On weekends, I crank up to the full dose and literally sleep all day long. The hubby is back in town and has been notified to take care of me.

The other day, I lost my voice. One minute I was speaking and the next... no voice... And how ironic is that I had just taken a vow of silence on my blog! Whoever is controlling things out there certainly has a sense of humor!

So I think I have laryngitis or whatever-ritis. And trust me. It feels worse than my body being invaded by aliens.

So how are you doing?

Collage: 2

A while back, I experimented with collages and wrote a post about it here. Oh what fun it was!

My dear bloggy friend Linda at Croneandbearit decided to have some fun and play with it a bit. She posted about it here. And she talked about how much fun she had doing it here.

I swear. Playing with Modpodge is a whole lot of fun! If you haven't tried it, you are missing out on tons of fun!

The piece I posted today was created by Linda. Isn't it super cool? And how adorable is Emma Lou?

Thank you so much Linda for sharing this with us! May many more modpodge projects entertain us!

Vow of Silence

Today I have decided to take a vow of silence.

Yesterday while recovering from my cold/allergies, I decided to visit my bloggy friends. I left a comment that was nothing but ramblings of a lunatic. In other words, I made quiet a fool of myself.

Le Sigh!

And it could have been about something that really matters. Like World peace, Women's rights, eradicate poverty etc. But what did I get all worked up about? Judges on American Idol. Yep.
Le double Sigh!

So today, I plan on catching up with my friend's blogs. And refrain myself from commenting. If I do comment, it will be something brief. Don't expect any meaningful comments. Trust me. You don't want to hear my crazy ramblings. I am doing you a favor. And myself a bigger one. I can only handle making a fool of myself once a month.

Questions: Have aliens ever invaded your body? Does taking cold medicine ever make you feel like you are livin La Vida Loca?

Hello!

In case you are wondering what happened to me, here is the scoop.

I had bad cold/allergies/ear infection and am recovering from it.

Here is a cocktail I've been drinking a lot and has been helping me:

Use a blender to mix the following:

Ginger
Honey
Turmeric
Pepper
Lemon Juice

Strain and drink it like a shot.

Fortunately the weekend is around the corner so I can rest and recoup!

Hope all is well with you. Catch up with you soon!
