Did I ever tell you that one of dream jobs is to become a cruise director? How fun would that be? A while back, I wrote about my top ten fun jobs and I have to say that I am fantasizing about it again. 

The wanderlust has hit me again. I want to T.R.A.V.E.L. And be that anonomous person behind the camera acting like a tourist. And what the heck is wrong with that I ask? Nada. Not a thing.

Last year, when I went to Cabos, I had a strange thing happen to me. As my hubby and I were walking around in downtown Cabos, we ran into a little group who was struggling with directions just as we were.

We had a perfectly normal conversation. Then a gentleman asked me, "Are you on the cruise?"

To which I replied, "No we flew from Austin."

And his expression changed. He looked a little sadly at us and then it turned into pity.

"Oh. Ok." And then he did the most brutal thing. He walked away from us.

We, who were not on the cruise ship, were not worthy of his time.

Le sigh.

So now you tell me. Have you ever been on a cruise? How was it? Do you think as someone who is claustrophobic and fears heights could survive a cruise? And don't you want to be a cruise director?

Some other random stuff:

• Did I tell you how excited I am about my upcoming vacation to Atlanta/Tybee Island/Savannah? I can't wait!
• I will be off work for 10 days. While I love my job, it will be so nice not to rush, rush, rush in the morning. I can wake up when I want to, take naps, play computer games, go for walks, take photos all day long, read blogs and comment, yada yada. Be totally unstructured. How fun!
• Today I have to go to the Austin Art Space gallery in Austin to drop off one of my selected pieces. The show starts on July 10th and the opening night is on July 11th. I am totally bummed out that I won't be able to attend the opening show since I will be in Atlanta. So so sad!

PS: Number of people going on my trip = 4. Number of laptops we are taking = 2.

Water Taxi in Los Cabos

In Cabos Mexico, you can take a glass bottom water taxi from one beach to the other. You can even get a round trip to the arch. It is kinda like Manhattan where you strike a pose and a taxi will instantly appear. Depending on how cute you look.

Here is the boat we took. A word of warning though. It is kinda hard to get into it from the beach. Specially if you are carrying a ton of camera equipment. They are also very very bumpy. So point at shoot and whatever you get on your camera, oh well.





You do see a ton of fishes in the boat. It is amazing. Don't expect to get a perfect shot. The fish are super fast. Click, click, click. And consider yourself lucky if you get a shot of some.





I was being tossed around in the boat when I took this photo. Like I said, photo composition goes out of the window. You just click and hope to catch some of the beauty.

I like this picture because it signifies what is going on with me right now. Great boat, being tossed around a bit, headed towards the open sea or the rocks. You never know where the boat will end up.

If you want to take some great shots, I highly recommend the Sunset Cruise. The boat is larger, there are tons of people on the boat so it adds weight, and it is much more steady.

You'll see a spectacular sunset but won't see the fishes. Dolphins and Marlins? Yes. Little fishes? Nope.

Either way, you can't go wrong.

Cabo San Lucas Dreams Lounge

Sometimes a picture is so much better than a thousand words. Here is the lovely lounge at the Dreams resort in Cabo San Lucas. You can relax here, watch the spectacular Sea of Cortez, and sip on cocktails.







In the evening, you can listen to relaxing music. Flute, guitar, the Sea of Cortez and more cocktails.

So what happens when my hubby arrives there during the football season?








A little rearrangement.

At his request, the staff pulled in a TV so he could watch the Cowboys play football.

All the men at the lounge thanked him profusely. They said the flute was making them sleepy.

And the women? Some joined their husbands. Others gabbed with other women, and some took off to the spa.

We were all secure about ourselves and thought, "what's the problem with a few hours of football when you are in paradise and have a lifetime to spend together? Let them have some fun. Live and let live."

Translation: Football is football. It is sacrilegious. If you expect them to give it up so you can sip on cocktails, hold hands and listen to the flute together, you have no clue about reality. Don't even bother going there. Give up now and make the both of you happier. Join them or think of ways to entertain yourself during the football hours. I suggest going to the spa or shopping.

I'm Back!

So I came back last night from Cabos San Lucas.

The trip was fantastic! I have many many pictures to post and stories to tell. Since I arrived late last night and had to work on Tuesday, I am still trying to play catch up and very very tired.

Thanks to all those who visited and posted comments! I am sorry I haven't responded yet but intend to do so as soon as possible. Your support means so much to me! Thank you! I've also missed reading my daily blogs. I am hoping to catch up on that by this weekend!

Also, I have so much to share about Cabos. I can literally blog about it for months! You tell me when you are sick of it. OK?

Here are some random facts about my trip.

• Pictures takes: 2000+. Good thing I don't have to worry about paying for role development.
• Scheduled publishing really works! Thanks Jodi! You rock!
  
• Total number of sun dresses I took: 9. I could have used more.
• Golden and silver cocktail dresses? Leave them at home next time. Waaaay to overdressed.
• If I don't have access to internet for a week, the earth will still spin. The sun will still rise the next morning. And when I come back, I still may have a job.
• If you are going to take a picture of your feet on the beach or by the pool, for God's sake apply some moisturizer.
  
• All you can eat does not mean all you can eat. Feel free to stop when you are full.
• Football season even exists in Mexico. You can't escape it. Embrace it. Go to the the spa while your husband is watching the games.
  
• If you are hanging out at your hotel bar, it is completely ok to sing karaoke (Yeah Macerena) as long as no one you know is at the bar. And there is absolutely no possibility that you will ever run into them ever again. And no photos please!
• Patsies don't work that well on the beach or in a hot environment. Next time, buy some body tape so the suckers don't keep falling off shocking the daylights out of people.
• Pool > beach >pool > restaurants > beach > room > nap> pool > beach> pool> restaurants > spa > room > shower > nightly theme party. Go for it!
