Mercury in Retrograde

So here is what happened.

My blackberry died.
I got another hand me down blackberry.
That died.
I started using an old personal cell phone.
That died.
My office phone is working occasionally.
My outlook is eating up my emails.
My internet connection at home isn't working.
My gmail is randomly moving important emails to the spam folder.
In short, my life, as I know it is falling apart.

So I did what any normal person would do. I asked a friend and she told me that mercury is in retrograde. I asked her what the heck it meant and she said that when mercury is in retrograde, supposedly there would be issues with communication including electronics. Mercury was a messenger and a God of Communication. A planet is described as retrograde when it appears to be moving backwards through the zodiac.

That explained everything.

Fortunately, this ends on October 15th.

Until then, expect your electronic communication devices to misbehave.

What's a few days without a cell phone or internet?

Blackberry Demise

My blackberry is dead.

Woe is me!
They gave me a loaner. But I am a creature of habit. It is just not the same.
They put my old card in the loaner so I still have access to all my information. But I have to reconfigure all my old stuff.
The first thing I did is to write a fake email on my loaner. Taking PTO. Fortunately, this one does not have POT stored in cache. For those of you who have no clue what I am talking about, see this.
But what happened to the games I bought using my husband's credit card? Do I have to buy them again? I should have the purchase information somewhere. But like I said, I should. Where the heck is it?
I so miss my old blackberry.
Goodbye sweet old blackberry. How I will miss you. Other than your overuse of POT, you were perfect!

My Blackberry

I have a hand me down blackberry from work. I don't know who owned it before me. But I think it is possessed.

On Friday, I had a doctor's appointment before work. When I got there, the doctor was running a little late so I knew I had to take some time off from work. The friend who went with me insisted I take the day off and get some additional routine tests done. Some were long overdue.

So I wanted to send an email out on my blackberry to let my work folks know about it.

I typed in:

I am taking PTO today. Won't be coming in.

Blackberry auto corrected it to:

I am taking POT today. Won't be coming in.

Mean, mean blackberry. For some reason, POT is stored in cache somewhere. So any time I type some key words, it auto fills it with stuff like:

Got Questions: Got Pot?

Getting paid today: Getting Pot today.

Any time a word starts with a G, POT is sure to follow.

Thankfully, I read the email before I sent it out to half the company.

Anyone have advice how to fix my blackberry before I get fired?

IPOD in Heaven?

Whether we want to not, we are all going to die. Always an organizer, this morning I found myself making a list of things I hope I can find in the afterworld.

  1. IPod. How did we listen to music before IPods? I remember the first time I bought a portable CD player. It was huge. And played 1 cd at a time. Oh how I love progress!
  2. Blackberry. What else do you need? You can email, make phone call, surf the web, or play games. If only it had a small mirror. Oh well. Maybe in the after world.
  3. Digital Camera. So what if serious photographers don’t really like them a lot? I love them. Plop them in your purse and shoot everywhere, anytime.
  4. Laptop. Can’t stay without it.
  5. Wii. How can I possibly live without Wii fit? Or Super Mario? It would be impossible but technically I’d be dead so it *may* not matter.
  6. Netflix instant movie access. Movies, documentaries... you name it.
  7. IBook. Ok so I don’t have this yet. But I want one. Even if it is in the afterworld.
  8. Hair gel. How else is my hair going to stay down?
  9. Lipstick. Gotto have my lipstick.
  10. Chocolates. Do I have to explain this?

What would your list look like?
