Art Date

Last weekend, my friend A. and I got together to do some encaustics. A. liked the heating gun.

Layer of wax/encaustics medium applied and sealed with a heating gun.

Next, she drew a coffee mug with steam coming out.

We then had to make a run to the grocery store to pick up some coffee beans. She then carefully placed the beans and applied heat to it. Oh the aroma of coffee was so very wonderful!

And here is her finished piece. Brilliant! Don't you think?

Here she is. Armed and dangerous.

A looks like she's really taking to encaustics. That's kind of scary really. I think K will start to have nightmares where he is chased by a heat gun (of some kind.) Run, K, run!

(Sorry inside joke.)

Blogitse: I swear this is so much fun! Encaustics adds another sense to the process. The aromas are amazing. And the finished piece somehow looks like something edible. Like icing on cake. It always makes me hungry:)

Mythos: LOL. Now that would be steamy:)

Nicole: Ha ha. I am a messy person. Encaustics and painting is super messy. But it is like being a little kid and playing with finger paints. So much fun!

Carol: Based on what I know, if K will run, it will be towards A. No doubt about that:)

Linda: If it makes you feel better, I still haven't sent out my pay it forward gifts. I keep making stuff and then putting it aside. Le sigh.

Drivero: Thanks for visiting my site and commenting. I am having lots of fun with this artwork.
