Yesterday I went to have a nice lunch with my co-workers at a restaurant called Ski Shores. It is located by a river and you can arrive in a car or a boat. They have the best hamburgers in town.
I had a great time. We guzzled down hamburgers as we watched people in boats arrive for lunch. So what do these people do to support themselves? How come they are cruising along the river on a working day?
Oh well.
My friend has a gorgeous tattoo. I've been wanting one for a while but my family is vehemently opposed to the idea.
I really, really want one. I have no idea why. Certainly not for the cool factor. My birthday is coming up in July and I was thinking of getting one. I am terrified of the pain but I am sure my friend will hold my hand during the procedure.
What do you think? Should I get a tattoo? What kind? Do you have tattoos?

cool shot...cool girl, cool tattoo, cool cheeseburger. In fact, the only thing missing in this picture is me! : ) I don't have any tattoos, but I have some nice scars.
I think you should try some of those wash off tattoos first and see how you like it.
I would like a hula girl on my forearm so that when I open and close my fist and flex, she dances.
Mythos: I was thinking more like a yin-yan... or a sun...
I don't have any tattoos but if I did it would be along the lines of what you're thinking - something small and elegant that doesn't dance if I flex my fist! I agree though - good idea to try one that washes off first. My sons both had henna tattoos in Greece a few years ago but one had black henna which caused his skin to erupt in angry blisters, so the thought of the real thing scares me.
I have two tattoos...
Tattoos are so personal that only you know what's best for you...
If you don't know, don't do it.
Try henna first...just in case! :)
How about a spiral around the navel?
I don't have any tattoos, but the idea of the pain appeals because it might take my mind off of things. Maybe just go in the parlor and say Give me a big one?
The shot is way cool.
:)
What all those people do there.
Well, I guess some were like you on their Lunch break, some on vacation, some retired and some jobless.
Hubby always asks that question too. Drives me nuts :)
My Mom has a tattoo around her arm and one on her shoulder. Looks good on her, she's quite skinny and wiry :)
Mythos: I've tried some wash off tattoos but they are so fake! I'll try again. I like your tattoo idea. Maybe you should get one? :)
Janice: LOL. I think the long suffering may like the hula dancer on your biceps:) I've had henna tattoos and love them! Black henna can be nasty! It is not herbal and full of chemicals. If you get it from a reputable person, it can be ok. I'll post some photos of henna one of these days:)
Blogitse: Do tell us what your tattoos are! We are so curious:)
Mythos: That is not a bad idea. I may try some henna there first:)
Nan: You are too funny! I AM going to use the line, "give me a big one!" :) You go first and tell me about it:)
Nicole: I am skinny and wiry too! OK maybe I am stretching that a bit but so what? Yeah it amazes me that people have all this time to play around. I must have done something wrong:)
ok Scriber...I'll try to take photos of my tattoos tomorrow...
you'll know if they come ok...
not very easy to take from my upper back - but that's good pt for me! :)
Nan, if it's just the pain you want, tell them to use invisible ink.
Here's an idea: Take a stem of poison ivy, break it open and draw or write with it on your skin. It won't be long before you will be scratching at it like crazy and you'll have a wonderful red tattoo!
Ummm...I am noticing that it is Monday and you girls, are still not back from lunch!
Get the tattoo! The heck with your family. As a massage therapist I have seen some beautiful tatoos. My favorites are the ones with rich pastel colors. Get something you will love. I think you will know what to get the moment you see it.
Hi Scriber,
my tattoos and your blog address is on my post today... :)
