Creepy Mannequins

Some very creepy mannequins I saw at Tybee Island. They looked like children of the corn. And the eyes followed me everywhere!

Yes I know I get creeped out easily but there is something seriously freaky about this. Does this creep you out? Or is it just me?

Knowing me, and the stories I write, you must know this has to be one of my favorite photos...so send it to me, and maybe I can write a little tale around it. the children look especially lovely next to their headless mother! : )

Don't think I've seen Children of the Corn but got confused with a film where there is some demonic practice going on and at the end the husband - who speaks out against it - has his tongue cut out. Now THAT definitely freaked me out and has stayed with me many years. But these sweet little mannequins - No! Looking at the other comments it seems I'm alone in this...!

When you get right down to it, most mannikins are a bit creepy. Bodies...but not alive. Sometimes it is just body parts. Bodiless legs model hosiery. Torsos, sans arms, legs, heads, model shirts, blouses, bras. Bodiless heads model hats, sunglasses, wigs. Some are painted silver and seem from outer space. Its an interesting study...the evolution of the mannikin. I think store-fronts should employ living models displaying these garments. (I especially think this when passing by Victoria's Secret.)

Don't forget the ones with the baskets on the bottom-those creep me out the most. It's like some kind of demonic half man/half machine coming to get me.

And, yes, these mannequins are quite freakish. I was all froke out when I saw them.

(But, then, you know, I have this irrational fear of dress forms anyway.)
